Over the past six months, Cochrane US members—alongside other US-based experts from institutions such as the United Nations Office of the Secretary-General, UNICEF, and the American College of Physicians—have been actively contributing to the Evidence Synthesis Infrastructure Collaborative (ESIC), a global initiative supported by Wellcome Trust.

ESIC aimed to build a stronger, more inclusive, and coordinated global evidence ecosystem by reimagining how we produce, share, and utilize evidence to address the world’s most pressing challenges.
In June 2025, representatives gathered in Cape Town, South Africa, for a three-day consensus meeting to co-develop a shared vision and next steps for the collaborative. Cochrane US members and their colleagues participated in strategic discussions across key areas such as governance, priority setting, equity, and capacity building.
