His contributions span the full review process—from conducting comprehensive literature searches across databases like MEDLINE, Web of Science, EMBASE, CINAHL, Cochrane, and PsycInfo, to screening, data extraction, synthesis, and manuscript preparation. His work also includes developing key visual materials such as PRISMA diagrams and analytical tables for publication and presentation.
Beyond his research work, Usman has demonstrated a strong commitment to education and mentorship. As a teaching assistant for graduate-level courses in epidemiology and biostatistics, he supported students in applying statistical tools to real-world public health challenges and developed instructional materials to enhance learning outcomes.
Usman also brings clinical research experience from Massachusetts General Hospital, where he worked on a prospective cohort study investigating dietary impacts on developmental outcomes in food-allergic infants. There, he contributed to data management, statistical analysis, and collaborative study design.
With his multidisciplinary background and a passion for improving population health through evidence, Usman is a valuable addition to the Cochrane US – Tufts team. We are excited to collaborate with him as we continue to promote high-quality, policy-relevant systematic reviews that improve healthcare decision-making.
