Cochrane US welcomed a new Cochrane Fellow at Tufts!

Erin Plummer holds a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and is currently a dual degree student at Tufts University School of Medicine and Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. She is pursuing a Master of Science in Biochemical and Molecular Nutrition and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

After completing her undergraduate degree, she worked in clinical research at Massachusetts General Hospital, focusing on breast cancer radiation oncology treatment. This position provided insights into many areas of translational research, but particularly the intricacies of clinical research and its downstream effects, and the day-to-day inequities that patients face at the hands of the healthcare system.

Erin's current research interests are nutrition-related chronic diseases and the epidemiological patterns of these diseases stemming from biological, dietary, and sociopolitical roots. Her goal is to contribute to a growing body of research that examines how global sociopolitical hegemonies have shaped non-communicable disease patterns and food systems.

Erin is looking forward to her year in the Tuft's Cochrane Fellowship and hopes to assist in producing systematic reviews and education resources that further health equity worldwide.

Welcome Erin!
