The Cochrane US Health Equity Mentoring Program is thrilled to announce our Year 4 cohort—the program’s largest to date! This year, an impressive 30 mentees from 19 countries will embark on a year-long journey aimed at advancing health equity through evidence-based healthcare. The global reach of this cohort showcases the program's commitment to diversity and inclusion, with participants representing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America.
The overwhelming response this year, with over 300 applications, is a testament to the growing interest in this unique mentorship opportunity. Since its inception in 2021, the Cochrane US Health Equity Mentoring Program has successfully supported 100+ health science students and professionals from under-resourced and historically marginalized backgrounds, aligning with Cochrane's mission of improving health outcomes through accessible and trusted health evidence.
For the next 12 months, mentees will participate in virtual one-on-one and group mentoring, training sessions, and project-based collaborations with seasoned Cochrane researchers and community members. These mentees are not only developing their own skills but also becoming champions for health equity and advocates for evidence-based practices within their communities.
As the program marks its fourth year, the Cochrane US Health Equity Mentoring Program stands as a model for mentorship in evidence-based healthcare, empowering emerging leaders and fostering a collaborative, global network of healthcare professionals. The future looks brighter than ever for health equity worldwide!
If you are interested in getting to know our mentees keep an eye on our X @Cochrane_US as we will be introducing them on our spotlight Wednesdays - Premiering next week!
Congratulations to the Year 4 mentees and many thanks to our administrative team as always!
