Our successes

We love our program but we would not be as passionate if we would not hear the positive experiences of our mentees. Hear from them!

“I have participated and learned how to use Cochrane Engage; Cochrane translation from English to Italian and lead the Breastfeeding webinar. Thanks to Cochrane's mentoring I could be a coauthor of a systematic review about cancer in space”

“I had the chance to organize webinars in collaboration with other mentees like; International Women’s Day and Breastfeeding Week”

“I participated with my mentor in a systematic review of instruments for the assessment of the comprehensive development of children (0 to 9 years old) in a healthcare context in Chile. I also support the summary of Oropharyngeal impregnation with maternal colostrum to reduce adverse perinatal outcomes (submitted and accepted for poster presentation in the Global Evidence Summit 2024)”

“ I collaborate with other people in the Cochrane network  in the making of  -Protocol of a Cochrane systematic review of Methylxanthines for the prevention or treatment of intermittent hypoxemia or respiratory insufficiency in late preterm infants- and update of a Cochrane systematic review of Cerebral near-infrared spectroscopy monitoring for prevention of death or neurodevelopmental disability in very preterm infants”

“Groups work with other mentees allowed me to do things like participate in the Visual Data Graphic Project of a Cochrane systematic review of Methylxanthine for the prevention and treatment of apnea in preterm infants and help develop the protocol for a scoping review of barriers and enablers for the implementation of clinical practice guidelines in Latin America”

“I was inspired and given support to train in the use of software for Systematic Reviews: Covidence for screening and data extraction, web Rev man for Cochrane protocols, using Cochrane learning website, started using Cochrane engaged and having plenty active learning and participation in mentoring speaking series”

“I have completed several training offered by Cochrane, including the Intervention Review Training and KT Training. I have attended numerous webinars through Cochrane, I liked the most the PPI series organized by the Cochrane Consumer Network. Additionally, within the program, I co-organized and moderated a webinar on health equity for International Women’s Day 2024. In collaboration with other mentees, I am co-supervising the creation of a Cochrane Mentoring Program Journal Club.”

“Thanks to my mentor, I have participated in data extraction for a living umbrella review in geriatric medicine and am the second author of a redundancy analysis of RCTs within this review. I also presented this redundancy analysis as the main speaker in a webinar organized by the Cochrane US Affiliated Centre.”

“Recently, I assisted Lucy Johnson-Brown, Cochrane’s Head of Governance, in creating a

visual representation of Cochrane Governance.”

“I have been awarded a 3-year Research Fellowship in a research institution where I develop and promote

Knowledge Translation activities within the Cochrane MS and Rare Diseases of the CNS Review Group

and Cochrane Italy Geographic Group.”

“I've participated in the 2024 IWD webinar and I am involved in two systematic reviews, both in the screening phase”
